When dealing with structured cabling we usually use a cable from the category 5E (with a bandwidth up to 100 MHz). Due to its affordability, this category is the most used one in Slovakia. After that come the cables from the newer category of 6A, which was designed for the transfer of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (IEEE 802.3an 10Gbase-T). Cables from this category are available in shielded and unshielded versions and are especially produced for the full-fledged transfer of the 10GBase-T protocol with a speed of 10 Gb per second irrespective of the distance.
